Comfort-first Supply Plan – Aged Care Study

A large aged-care facility approached Mina Hub with a familiar problem: continence products were being ordered reactively, based on price and availability, rather than comfort and long-term planning. Nurses were forced to “make do” with whatever was on hand, and management was dealing with frequent urgent deliveries and unpredictable monthly spend.

We started by mapping every level of continence need across the 120 beds – from light day protection to full night-time support – and then built a simple product matrix using Mina Hub pants, briefs and bed pads. For each category, we defined the preferred product, size ranges, expected monthly usage and back-up options.

In parallel, we designed a container-based import and local warehousing plan. Instead of many small, expensive top-up orders, the facility now receives scheduled deliveries based on forecast usage, with clear buffer stock levels for each wing. This approach gives nurses consistency, reduces product changes for residents and gives management visibility on costs several months ahead.

Within the first months of the plan, the facility reported fewer last-minute supplier calls, smoother night shifts, and positive feedback from families about comfort and skin condition. For Mina Hub and our manufacturing partners, this kind of long-term planning also means better volume forecasting, more stable production and a clear basis for future product development.
